About Joondalup BBQ Facilities

The City of Joondalup maintains 41 parks with electric BBQ facilities. All barbecues are electric, free to use and are maintained and cleaned regularly. Popular locations include Neil Hawkins Park, Burns Beach Park, Hillarys Beach Park, and Sorrento Beach Park.

Can I bring my own BBQ to parks in Joondalup?

<p>During <strong>Total Fire Bans</strong> in Western Australia:</p><ul><li><strong>Gas BBQs</strong> with enclosed flames are permitted (clear 5m around BBQ)</li><li><strong>Electric BBQs</strong> are permitted</li><li><strong>Solid fuel BBQs</strong> (charcoal, wood, Weber-style) are <strong>prohibited</strong></li></ul><p>Check fire bans at <a href="https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au/total-fire-bans">Emergency WA</a> or call 1800 709 355.</p>

Can I book a BBQ facility for exclusive use?

<p>The City <strong>does not accept bookings</strong> for tables, gazebos, or barbecues - these are available <strong>first-come, first-served</strong>.</p><p><strong>A park booking is required if:</strong></p><ul><li>More than 50 guests attending</li><li>Alcohol consumption is requested</li><li>Entertainment/infrastructure (bouncy castle, petting zoo, etc.)</li><li>High-risk celebrations (16th, 18th, 21st birthdays)</li><li>Wedding ceremonies</li><li>Commercial business involvement</li></ul><p>Even with a booking, it is public open space and the City does not guarantee exclusive use.</p><p>Contact: <strong>9400 4000</strong></p>
