Can I bring my own BBQ to parks in Yarra?

You can bring your own BBQ as long as:

  • It is a gas BBQ (not charcoal/solid fuel)
  • It is not a Total Fire Ban day

Charcoal and wood-fired BBQs are not permitted in Yarra parks.

Can I book a BBQ facility for exclusive use?

Public BBQs cannot be reserved as they are public amenities available to all.

A permit is required if:

  • More than 50 attendees
  • Event is catered by external supplier
  • Charging participants a fee
  • Amplified sound required
  • Vehicle access needed for equipment

How do I report a fault or issue with a BBQ facility?

To report broken BBQs, park equipment, toilets, or lighting, call 9205 5555. Council aims to respond within 10 days.
