Public BBQ Rules & Facilities
Cairns Regional Council has BBQ facilities along the Cairns Esplanade (open 6am-9pm daily) at locations including Curlew, Egret, Jabiru, Kingfisher, Kookaburra, Lorikeet, Pelican, Sand Piper, Sea Eagle, Sister Cities BBQ, and Seagull. BBQs are free for casual use.
During Local Fire Bans in Queensland:

You can hire a BBQ for your event - submit an online booking enquiry. Hire fees apply.
Note: Due to high demand, the Egret, Sand Piper, Curlew and Jabiru barbecues are not available for hire.
Council offers venues for weddings, ceremonies, meetings and events including beaches, foreshores, parks, BBQs and shelters.
