MARCHANT PARK

Public BBQ

Marchant Park is an expansive, well-maintained location for leisure and sports activities. It consists of ten cricket ovals, a mix of turf and synthetic pitches. The park is also popular for bike riding, as it provides access to the Downfall Creek Bikeway, and features a path circling the entire area. It's a bustling hub for outdoor enthusiasts, especially on weekends, making parking challenging for some. While it's commended for its green, open spaces perfect for picnics, the park has been criticized for a lack of amenities, notably toilets and wheelchair accessibility. Additionally, a problem of dogs being walked without leashes in leash-on areas has been highlighted. Despite these concerns, visitors find it an enjoyable spot for watching sports, taking refreshing walks, or simply enjoying the tranquil surroundings. The park's canteen has received particular praise, especially for its homemade sausage rolls and chicken burgers.
