ACTON PARK

Public BBQ

Acton Park, situated on the protected northern foreshore of West Basin, serves as an ideal starting point to explore Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra. The park is home to a historic grove of she-oak trees and a deciduous landscape dominated by willows and poplar species, some of which were raised by the Australian National University. Visitors can find information on various tourist drives and enjoy the memorial seat commemorating planner and architect Grenfell Rudduck. The nearby Canberra and Region Visitors Centre and Henry Rolland Park offer additional attractions. The small beach on the foreshore of Lake Burley Griffin is a popular spot for swimming, with pleasant water temperatures inviting visitors to enjoy a relaxing day by the lake.
